Within a network or cluster of elements that uses System Data Synchronization, one MiVoice Business system should be designated as the "contact point" that connects to the directory server and programmed with the synchronization settings. The contact point and all other MiVoice Business systems should also be programmed with user roles and templates that can be used to provide non-IDS data for locally hosted users.
To program the MiVoice Business contact point:
Purchase and enable the Integrated Directory Service option.
Network
Elements form
Add the directory server(s) as network elements.
IDS
Connection form
Add an IDS connection for each directory server.
If necessary, update the LDAP attributes to match the values employed by the directory server.
Specify the default handling for failed LDAP queries.
NOTE: In the current release, the form is programmed with default values for the Microsoft Active Directory (AD) service and should not need to be updated.
System
Options form
Configure the "Maximum sets of IDS sync results" parameter.
User
Roles (
Add roles and associated templates to provide data for non-IDS managed fields such as the device type and class of service.
To program all other MiVoice Business systems in the SDS network:
User Roles and User and Service Templates forms
Add roles and associated templates to provide data for non-IDS managed fields.
NOTES
It is recommended, but not required, that only one system be programmed as the MiVoice Business contact point.
Use an AX Controller as the MiVoice Business contact point only if other options are not available.
Enabling the IDS license adds IDS forms to the MiVoice Business interface.
If the user's directory number is known, a User and Service Template is applied on the home element. Otherwise, it is applied on the MiVoice Business contact point.
By default, user service
data is synchronized for all users. You can disable the feature
for individual users by clearing the "IDS-Manageable"
field on the User
and Services Configuration form.
